Title
St. Nicholas: an Illustrated Magazine for Young Folks.
Subject
Description
Badly rebound hardcover poor condition. It is called, according to a sticker, a "Weis Binder." It involves a block of wood that rounds the spine, but doesn't round the signatures. Into that block is stuck a metal frame onto which the signatures are hung. Rubbed edges, bumped spine and chipped covers. The half-title page and title pages are laid in. It's hard to tell if the edges of the pages were miscut originally, or if the rebind is responsible for the damage. The rebind has rusted, meaning that, as much as there has been a lot of damage, the paper is holding up better than the metal.
